Frequently Asked Questions

❓ What should I do if I am unsure what lesson I have?

👉 Ask your class teacher to check your timetable or speak to Jess in Y Ganolfan. You can also view the timetable board in the corridor.

❓ What if I have lost my timetable?

👉 Please ask your form tutor during registration and they will print a copy for you by the following day.

❓ What if I have forgotten my login?

👉 Your class teacher or form tutor will be able to help you with this or raise it with Mr. Biggs.

❓ What if I need first aid?

👉 At break or lunch, staff on duty can radio for first aid. You will be taken to Jess in Y Ganolfan, where a first aider will assess and treat you if required. During lessons the teacher will phone Jess to triage. Pupils should remain in lessons and if they are unwell can access support at Y Ganolfan.

❓ What should I do if I lose my property?

👉 Found items are collected in the Lost Property Room (top of the Red Stairs). Ask Jess in Y Ganolfan for the key so you can check for your belongings at break or lunch time only. Please return the key afterwards.

❓ What if I misplace my lanyard?

👉 A replacement lanyard can be ordered for £5 via ParentPay. Replacements will be given to form teachers to distribute.

❓ What if I forget my equipment and need stationery?

👉 Stationery is available for purchase from Miss Bufton in Learning Hub during registration.

❓ What if I need a plaster or an ice pack?

👉 Jess in Y Ganolfan can provide a plaster or an ice pack if deemed appropriate.

❓ What if I am being collected for an appointment?

👉 Stay in class until Nia calls your class teacher to release you. If you arrive at Y Derbynfa before being called, you will be sent back to class.

❓ What if I need to contact home (e.g., forgotten homework/PE kit)?

👉 Mobile phones must not be used in school. Please see Jess in Y Ganolfan — she will contact home for you during registration, break or lunch only.

❓ What if I feel unwell?

👉 You should remain in your lesson and inform your teacher. They will contact your Head of School or RSL who will check in with you and decide next steps.

❓ What if I need a new Class Charts code?

👉 Ask your form tutor or Jess in Y Ganolfan at break or lunch time only.

❓ What if I forget my tie or need to borrow uniform?

👉 Miss Bufton in Y Nyth can loan uniform during registration only.
🔹 Ties must be returned. Failure to return items will result in a charge.

❓ What if I arrive late?

👉 You must now register in Y Ganolfan if you arrive late. You will need your lanyard to access the school buildings and grounds. Please ensure you always keep your lanyard with you.
